**Backhoe Operator (Rubber tire)**

**Primary Responsibilities/Duties**:

- Reporting to Site Superintendent / Supervisor
- Pre-Operational Equipment Inspections on SiteDocs.
- Handle and transport job materials within the work areas
- Safe operation of equipment and comply with all safety requirements of the job
- Identify, report, and correct hazards
- Ability to work independently and self-motivated
- Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
- Proficient loader backhoe operating skills
- Carefully excavating near/around underground obstructions and utilities

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum 3 years heavy equipment operating experience
- Criminal Background Check as required for secure sites
- Must have a Valid Class 3 Drivers License with airbrakes

**Preferred Qualifications/Assets**:

- Preferred five (5) years of experience in commercial and/or industrial construction
- Preferred Class 1 License w/ Air
- Experience working in the utility installation industry

**Ability to**:

- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with supervisors, peers, and clients
- Ability to think logically about work at hand and compare site conditions with project designs.
- Detect errors, determine causes, and make corrections as appropriate
- Work in all weather conditions and various locations
- Must be in good physical condition with the ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, and lift 50 lbs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $26.42-$33.28 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 60 per week

**Experience**:

- rubber tire backhoe: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Class 3 Licence (preferred)
