We are looking for a **Full-time**, **IT Support Technician** for our **Head Office** at **Skymark**, **Mississauga**.

**Key Job Functions**

Regular Network Responsibilities:

- Operate servers in order to monitor the performance of computer systems and networks, and to coordinate computer network access and use
- Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes
- Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations
- Maintain an inventory of parts for emergency repairs
- Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future.
- Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware
- Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.

Inventory:

- Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement
- Inspect equipment or monitor operating conditions.
- Perform periodic fixed asset audits with Finance staff to ensure that equipment is not inappropriately used/stolen.

Observe all relevant safety protocols:

- Works in compliance with the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (RSO 1990 c.O.1) and associated regulations and uses ensures all individuals wear appropriate protective devices or clothing that are required.
- Reports to the direct manager the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger himself'herself or any other worker.
- Actively participates in the identification of workplace hazards with the aim of continuously improving the work environment.
- Ensure familiarity with VPI health and safety program.
- Immediately report to the direct manager and the appropriate first aider any injuries to self or clients under the supervision
- Ensure familiarity with VPI disability management program.

**Education, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
- Related post-secondary education.
- A+, Microsoft Certification (MCP, MCTS, or higher)
- Required system knowledge of Windows XP and 7, Microsoft Office Suite, Exchange 2010, Active Directory, and knowledge of Citrix an asset
- Knowledge of Cisco equipment, VMware ESXi, RDS, SmartSimple or SQL server-based products, and Deep Freeze an asset.
- Server and general IT hardware/software support
