Quality Control Technician - Genesis
- **Scope for the position**:

- The Quality Control Technician is responsible for sampling and quality review of incoming bulk food shipments for release to be sold to Genesis Food customers.
- Support Quality Assurance with the development and maintenance of HACCP and GFSI programs within the facility.
- **Basic function of the position**:

- Inspection, sampling, and release of in-coming shipments for distribution as per GMP SOPs.
- Quality review and evaluation of product samples.
- Obtaining and preparing samples to be sent to the lab for testing or to customers.
- Quality control records and retained samples maintenance.
- Complete any other tasks that may be required for quality control.
- Monday to Friday (40 hours per week)
- **Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Be able to lift 55 lbs (25 kg).
- Sampling and inspection of products and review of certificates of analysis for release.
- Testing of product samples (organoleptic, gluten testing, water activity, cooking and sprouting tests).
- Assisting with quality complaint investigations.
- Completing facility GMP inspections.
- Preparing and sending samples to customers and/or for laboratory analysis.
- Maintaining and filing quality records and documentation.
- Communicating details regarding product non-conformances or other relevant issues to Quality Assurance, Operations, Purchasing and Vendors in a timely manner.
- Quality Assurance support including the implementation and development of HACCP and SQF programs and training within the facility.
- **Required qualifications, education, experience, training, skills, background, certifications**:

- Bilingual in French and English.
- Post-secondary school education in food quality control or related area or experience
- Training or experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance (1-2 years)
- Detail orientation demonstrated through education, training or employment in inspection, data collection or comparable environment.
- Computer experience (MS-Office suites, Oracle Applications).
- Excellent communication skills and works well both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a well-organized manner to meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong analytical, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Training or experience in Food Safety (HACCP/GFSI) would be an asset.

**Salary**: $33,288.98-$53,359.00 per year
