**What this Job Entails**:
House Persons are responsible for the daily cleaning of public areas of the hotel in keeping with hotel standards. Duties include ensuring maximum standards of cleanliness in assigned areas including offices, lobby, hallways, public restrooms, and heart of house areas in a timely and efficient manner and when necessary assisting in cleaning guestrooms. The House Person provides friendly service help to create an exceptional guest experience that drives guest loyalty.
- Cleaning of designated areas including; restrooms, public areas, offices, banquet space, meeting rooms, and heart-of -house areas;
- Perform tasks including, but not limited to, dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, shampooing carpets, washing windows, cleaning/waxing floors, removing and disposing trash, etc.;
- Ensure that guests have the best possible experience by ensuring a warm and welcoming demeanor at every interaction;
- Report maintenance deficiencies and items in need of repair;
- Provide assistance to ensuring proper storage and inventory of Housekeeping supplies;
- Perform deep cleaning tasks and special projects (for example: mattress flipping, furniture moves, etc), as needed;
- Deliver guest requests and assist in cleaning guest rooms, as needed, which may include stripping rooms, cleaning behind beds or armoires, etc;
- Assisting Room Attendants by removing dirty linen and garbage from their carts;
- Work with all supporting departments to ensure a seamless experience for our guests, ensuring our vision of passionate people creating exceptional experiences is at the forefront of every interaction;
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Director of Rooms and/or designate.
- Passionate energetic personality with a team focused attitude
- Follow through on daily tasks and key responsibilities, driving a culture of teamwork and fun
- Experience in hotel housekeeping an asset
- Must be able to move, lift, carry and place objects weighing 30lbs frequently without assistance
- Detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
- Enjoys a moderate to high level of physical effort, position requires significant walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling
- Frequently lifting and carrying up to 40lbs
- High level of sensory attention: sight and hearing
- Manual dexterity required to use cleaning equipment
- Works with cleaning chemicals
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
