The **Roaste**r will report into the Roastery Manager and will assist with the smooth functioning of all day-to-day operations within the Roastery. They will uphold all coffee production standards and volume requirements as needed. Additionally, they will provide support within the Coffee Program by assisting with the processes for roasted coffee quality assurance.

**Responsibilities**
- Following direction of the Roastery Manager; assists with production of roasted coffee for all sales channels, ensuring optimal inventory and quality.
- Assists with all Roastery activities, including the preparation of packaging and alternative products.
- Ensures that all standard procedures and food safety processes are followed by the Roasting team.
- Follows the proper maintenance program and logs for all Roastery equipment ensuring that all scheduled maintenance activities are completed correctly and on-schedule.
- Assists the Roastery Manager with the preparation, roasts, packages, and stores coffee as an on-the-floor leader of the Roastery production team.
- Assists with deliveries, including large green coffee deliveries, for the Roastery.
- Supports the proper training of all new members of the Roastery team.
- Ensures the execution of all prescribed coffee roasting strategies and standards to ensure optimal roasted coffee product quality.
- Ensures the proper cleanliness and organization of the Roastery space.
- Assists the Roastery Manager with all product records and processes pertaining to financial reporting, regulatory requirements and third-party certifications.
- Supports the Roastery Quality Assurance program for roasted coffee by coordinating production roast cuppings, cupping setup, lab cleaning and data entry.
- Assists with the proper sampling, documentation and storage of all roasted coffee samples.
- Works alongside the Roastery Manager and with the Coffee Program & Product Development Manager to discuss and evaluate the production quality standards of all Roasted Coffees and supports constant improvement strategies.

**Requirements**:

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team player, with the demonstrated ability to lead effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Previous management experience
- Walk, bend, twist and lift up to 40 kg, and stand for up to 8 hours
- Frequent, continual, intermittent flexing and/or rotation of the wrist and spine

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour
