Our Strength is People." is a true expression of our belief that our people are our competitive advantage. **ArcelorMittal Dofasco** **Energy & Environment Business Unit** **Green House Gas (GHG) Decarbonization Strategy Leader** **(Permanent Position)** **Overall Responsibilities**: - Propose, evaluate, and lead actions across the facility that reduce the site’s carbon footprint without negative impact to the businesses cost structure. - Develop strategies, goals and implementation plans that integrate greenhouse gas management across the Manufacturing Business Units. **Accountabilities**: - Lead the reduction of site’s greenhouse gas footprint through the identification and initiation of technology and process optimization projects at the facility and BU level. - Technical expert, providing expertise in greenhouse gas mitigation technologies, approaches and financials - Develop and maintain site and asset level mass and thermal balances. - Own and maintain AM Dofasco GHG Reduction Roadmap. - Collaborate with R&D to share information and gain alignment on opportunities with new CO2 technologies - Assess impact of technology and compliance costs for operational scenarios in near, medium and long term. - Support AM Dofasco’s Government Relations with understanding challenges and costs associated with Net-Zero pathways to assist their advocacy efforts on carbon policy, funding and incentives. - Oversee coordination of decarbonization activities with Energy, R&D, Commercial and Decarb Project team. - Participate in AM forums, collaborate with CTO and other ArcelorMittal facilities to exchange information and advance ArcelorMittal Dofasco’s position. - Connect with AM CS and CTO experts and exchange information on GHG reduction technologies, regulatory environment, funding strategies, partnerships, etc. - Collaborate with Environment department to share information and gain alignment on impact of government policies - Support development of strategic partnerships with other companies and organizations to enable feasible pathways to decarbonization and infrastructural developments. - Spread awareness of decarbonization strategy objectives and progress to the broader organization including AMD leadership and technology teams - Attend relevant GHG webinars and seminars from industry experts, consultants and OEMS - Support the Technology Pillar of the Climate Change Governance Committee **Education and Experience**: - University Degree in the field of Engineering or Equivalent with 5+ years of job-related experience required. **Skills & Knowledge**: - Strong working knowledge of the steel industry. - Advanced knowledge of company manufacturing processes is required. - Knowledge of the key climate change policy issues at the international, national and provincial level is required. - Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required. - Excellent organizational and project management skills are required. **Work Environment**: Office environment.
