Reporting to the Finance Manager, Corporate and working with our global Husky Finance teams, the Financial Analyst plays a critical role in the timely and accurate preparation of Husky’s consolidated financial statements and associated reporting. This role provides exposure to senior levels of management, global scope, significant complexity (number of entities, structures and currencies) and the opportunity to work with multiple finance teams such as accounting, tax, treasury and business support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE FOLLOWING:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end journal entries including intercompany elimination entries
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end support schedules and account reconciliations
- Coordinate the monthly close activities of Husky business units
- Assist with reporting and analysis for the month, quarter and yearly close
- Upload FX rates and good understanding of FX impacts due to different functional/reporting currencies
- Consolidate analysis to support monthly/quarterly/yearly variance explanations
- Provide support in the timely preparation of the financial statements including preparation of notes disclosures
- Provide support in the month-end close processes & periodic reporting
- Ensure that financial information is presented clearly, consistently and on time
- Participate and support in the quarterly review and year end external audits
- Anticipate and communicate any concerns or known issues on a timely manner
- Understanding of working within a SOX environment
- Adhoc duties and other projects as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND RELATED EXPERIENCE:
- University education in Business, Accounting or equivalent
- Pursuing a CPA designation
- 2-3 years experience in accounting/finance discipline
- Microsoft AX Dynamics and OneStream experience would be a definite asset
TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Good understanding of US GAAP and/or IFRS as it relates to basic accounting areas, consolidations and internal controls
- Ability to successfully meet deadlines and objectives in a fast-paced environment (ability to multi-task etc)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to utilize financial systems (Dynamics AX experience preferred) and consolidation systems
- A proactive individual who is highly motivated, energetic and driven by continuous process improvements
