pH7 is seeking a highly responsible and dedicated Quality and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our workforce, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our products and maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. Your expertise in chemical handling, safety protocols, and quality assurance will be vital in upholding our commitment to excellence and protecting the well-being of our workforce and the surrounding community.

**Responsibilities**:
Quality Assurance:

- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality control procedures for all chemical production processes.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to monitor compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify potential quality issues, deviations, or trends and take appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality-related concerns and provide guidance on process improvements.
- Monitor the processes to ensure adherence to regulatory and internal standards.

Safety Compliance:

- Develop and enforce safety policies, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for chemical handling, storage, and transportation.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions to educate employees on safe working practices and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-miss situations, analyzing root causes, and recommending corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and industry best practices in chemical manufacturing.
- Conduct safety committee meeting.

Risk Assessment and Mitigation:

- Perform risk assessments of chemical processes and equipment to identify potential hazards and assess their severity.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to implement safety measures and engineering controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Advise on the safe handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous chemicals to prevent environmental contamination and health hazards.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay up to date with local, national, and international regulations related to chemical manufacturing, safety, and environmental protection.
- Ensure the factory's compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and maintain necessary documentation for inspections and audits.

Emergency Preparedness:

- Develop and implement emergency response plans for chemical spills, leaks, or accidents.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams and local authorities to conduct drills and ensure readiness to handle potential emergencies effectively.

**Requirements**:

- Occupational Health and Safety, bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent job experience
- Proven experience in quality control and safety management, preferably in a chemical manufacturing or processing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of chemical handling, storage, transportation, and disposal practices.
- Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, REACH, GHS).
- Strong analytical skills to identify quality deviations and safety hazards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams.
- Ability to lead and influence others to prioritize safety and quality.
- Background check is required.
