Reporting to the Commercial Lines Supervisor - Ontario, the Underwriting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Commercial Lines Underwriters with the development and successful execution of broker and territory-level business plans for our Ontario brokers in accordance with the regional commercial business plan for profitability, growth, retention, and service standards.
**Specific Responsibilities**:
Data entry to issue commercial lines policy documents-
Setting up and monitoring abeyances-
Ordering inspections-
Maintaining internal logs-
If required covering reception on an as-needed basis**Experience and Training**:
Post-secondary school education or comparable previous office experience.- Prior experience completing data entry is an asset.
**Qualities and Aptitudes**:
Good communication skills (verbal and written)-
Efficient and accurate keyboarding-
Strong attention to detail- Team player with a positive attitude
