As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager enthusiastic experienced **Cost Estimator **to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills.

This position reports to the Costing Manager.

**What you will be doing**:

- Prepare cost estimates and formal quotations for new products in line with customer requirements for timely submission.
- Maintain files of working documents as a backup for estimated figures, including current information on pricing from suppliers, sub-contractors, and technology partners.
- Liaise with other departments (Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production, etc.) to gather necessary data and to derive pricing for new products, ensuring all key assumptions and costing details are captured and documented.
- Review engineering design and manufacturing proposals against customer drawings and specifications to ensure customer RFQ requirements are met.
- Assist in the coordination of cost estimates/quotations with overseas JV partners.
- Liaise with Supply Chain for component/material cost updates as necessary.
- May assist in the preparation of studies, materials and methods, recommendations, and cost estimates as required.
- Participate in the end-of-life process for products and programs and assist in the service pricing process.
- Participate in internal and external CI activities as directed.
- Prepare/submit files of formal quotation in great detail as required and customer provided quote forms
- Assist in running through weekly meetings with guidance from supervisor
- Ensure all quotations are documented in great detail and accurately uploaded to Cloud software for traceability and company-wide access
- Perform additional duties as per the supervisor's direction.

**What you bring along**:

- Technical Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Industrial/Manufacturing), Mathematics and/or Statistics.
- Advanced level in Excel is a must.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a costing/price estimating role within a manufacturing/steel fabrication/forming environment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Advanced level user of Microsoft Office package.
- Exposure to ERP software (SYSPRO or similar) is desirable.
- Ability to work in a team environment with mínimal supervision.
- Detail-oriented, meticulous with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and work in a time-sensitive environment, while maintaining the quality and accuracy of the work produced.
- Collaborative in dealing with internal and external stakeholders.
- Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
