- $35-40/hr paid as contractor (no deductions). Only work snow days.
- Perfect for people looking to supplement EI, or retirees.
- Dayshift only - 6:30AM start time.
- Primary and Backup positions available.

**Does this sound like you?**

- You’re a smooth operator, and have been operating heavy equipment for years. People at work say ‘damn, he/she is a great operator’. You’ve not had any major incidents in the past, and you have a clean drivers license (for roading machinery)
- You are reliable and there when you’re needed - no excuses. Whether it’s Tuesday, or Christmas Day - if it snows, you’re at work, and in a state of readiness for a long day.
- You get along well with others. People are happy when they hear you’ll be on their crew, because you work hard and you’re kind to others.
- When your supervisor points out flaws in your work, you take it seriously because you take pride in your work.

**Should you accept the challenge, this role will involve**:
You will be introduced to a team of landscape professionals (about 60 of us), and given the opportunity to operate one of our machines safely and efficiently through a route of residential communities (condos/apartment complexes, etc).

You will be supported by a Field Supervisor and Account Manager for your zone of the city. You will work to clear the roadways on your route. Depending on the position you are suitable for (primary or backup), you will be on call 7 days/week to operate your machine/route - or you’ll be called in as a backup to fill in where we have a gap if you are available.

**Some of your tasks will include**:

- Prep and equipment maintenance - ensuring you and your machine are as ready as possible for the next work day.
- Operating your machinery in a safe and efficient manner, while communicating regularly with your teammates.
- Driving a truck and trailer and hooking up equipment safely.
- Accurately tracking your time in our field.
- Working in all weather conditions Mother Nature can throw at us; with a smile

**Applicants must have/be**:

- _A genuine, trustworthy person that will contribute to our work environment in a positive way._ Ask yourself: “Have I had quite a few issues working with others in the past? Would I say it was the other parties’ fault each time?” If yes, please do not apply.

- An experienced operator that can show immediate competence in a loader, and safely drive a truck and trailer in traffic between job sites.
- Ability to connect with people effectively to lead teams and motivate others.
- AB Class 5 with a clean driving record is required to road equipment.

- _This is often the most challenging part of this job for people, please think this through and ask clarifying questions in the interview._

**All Positions offer**:

- A friendly, supportive team to work with.
- Start time 6:30am, must be available for 12-14 hr shifts on big days.
- Pay starts/ends when you arrive/park the machine, including travel between sites.
- Tools you need to succeed in this position are provided.
- Regular social events.
- Casual/contractor sidewalk crew positions are available too (at lower hourly rates), if you want to work non skid steer days with us as well.

**Position Types and Compensation**:

- **_Primary Operator (Contractor)_**

- $35-40 per hour.
- Paid hourly.
- Availability Requirements: You’re our first line, and given the opportunity to work every loader day. You’re available 7 days per week including all holidays. Ideally available from November through April.

- **_Backup Operator (Contractor)_**

- $35-40 per hour.
- Paid hourly.
- Availability Requirements: You are offered work when a primary operator is not available. You're not always available, but you know how to operate and what to do when you come in.
