We are currently recruiting a **Maintenance Supervisor**, at our Winnipeg, Manitoba location. The primary role of the Maintenance Supervisor is ensuring the day-to-day maintenance plan is carried out on schedule to ensure mínimal operational downtime or impact. The Maintenance Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates maintenance staff in a manner that drives productivity, maintains engagement, and ensures a safe work environment. This position is responsible for being a hands-on resource to the team by supervising, assigning, and participating in the maintenance plan alongside the Maintenance team. The secondary role of this position is to contribute to the effective and efficient implementation of the operational plan by assisting the Manager in identifying and improving effectiveness and efficiency within all aspects of the department and the building. On occasion, the position may provide backup for the Manager in their absence.

This position will work a **4 days at a** **10 hour shift from 10:00 a.m. - 8:30 p.m**. to support a 24/7/365 operation.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS**

**Maintenance Operations**
- Oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure reliability, efficiency, availability, and continued operations.
- Managing the Work Order system to prioritize and ensure timely completion.
- Communicate and schedule work order requirements with maintenance technicians daily to determine realistic completion target dates based on priority, current workload, parts requirements, and production scheduling.
- Address issues or concerns that may interfere with the completion of the daily plan and with production operations.
- Work with all Managers and department supervisors in coordinating the availability of daily work orders, Preventative Maintenance (PM) and continuous improvement activities.
- Work closely with Maintenance Purchaser/Planner to ensure that all parts and services are available to complete work as per schedule. Purchase parts or plan services as required.
- Assist with the development of a work schedule for required major planned downtime on equipment.
- Receives and investigates calls for service and details required action by providing direction to maintenance technicians or by further consideration/scheduling.
- Supervises, assigns, and participates in the maintenance plan by performing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting breakdowns alongside the Maintenance team.
- Work with and monitor external contractors and services while on-site to ensure proper completion of work.
- Respond appropriately to emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment to reduce manufacturing machine downtime.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Leadership & Human Resources**
- Develop and maintain a team-based work environment by providing leadership, direction, coaching, training, communicating job expectations clearly and consistently, by planning, monitoring, and adhering to policies and procedures.
- Manages performance, attendance & discipline of maintenance team and consults with the Maintenance Manager as required. i.e., work scheduling, performance development program, employee relations.
- Identifies training needs and provides training for the maintenance team. Shares personal knowledge and skills to develop the competence of staff.
- Ensure a safe, respectful, and healthy work environment for employees.
- Assist in the development of positive cross-functional/department relationships.

**Safe Work Environment**
- Foster safe work practices by enforcing standard safety procedures and as required develop and implement practical recommendations for safety practices.
- Verify that no unsafe practices develop in the plant, perform periodic inspections, and enforce all the policies and procedures related to employee safety in the work environment.
- Ensure contractors follow the required safety procedures.
- Required to be a certified First Aider

**Continuous Improvement**
- Contributes to establishing and maintaining a Continuous Improvement environment.
- Develop reporting and measurements to ensure continued successful progress on a daily/ weekly/ monthly target. Review and communicate results regularly with the team and discuss and develop action plans to address concerns and positively influence outcomes.
