Our office in Port Robinson, ON, is looking for a CNC Plasma Table Operator (ESAB Model) to support its project site in Port Robinson, ON.

**Summary of the Role**:
The CNC Plasma Table Operator will operate the ESAB Avenger 2 table, and be responsible for opening, reviewing and executing nests preprogrammed by the design team. If errors in the nesting are found the Operator will work with the design team to correct said nests or make the necessary changes at the machine. The Operator will also set up and ensure machine consumables are in good condition to optimize cutting quality. This role will involve working collaboratively with the on-site team to ensure precise cutting and streamlined operations, all while maintaining material traceability.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Read work orders to determine specifications, materials to be used, dimensions and tolerances, proper labeling of parts in order to accurately operate the CNC plasma to cut/produce quality parts.
- Follow standard operating procedures when using plasma cutters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment and to ensure only quality product is produced.
- Perform daily maintenance to keep clean and ensure plasma cutter is working well.
- Load steel sheets onto cutting table using an overhead crane and vacuum lift.
- Measure dimensions of finished work pieces to ensure conformance to specifications using precision measurement devices as required.
- Unload cut parts from the table and load them onto part carts to go to the next operation.
- Cut scrap material using torches, remove from the cutting table and place in scrap bin.
- Keep work area clean and organized according to 5S Standards.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency through continuous improvement initiatives.

**Key Requirements, Experience and Skills**:

- 2+ years of experience with CNC plasma cutting machines is required.
- Practical welder/fitter experience is considered an asset.
- CWB or ASME welding tickets are considered an asset.
- Solid understanding of metal fabrication concepts and processes.
- Knowledge of shield gases used during cutting operation.
- Knowledgeable and experience with the use of nesting software (Such as Pronest, Diamond Nest, or Columbus Nesting Software) is considered an asset.
- Ability to read tape measure, square, veneer calipers.
- Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Strong mathematical skills, mechanically and technically inclined.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently.
