**Job Overview**:
The Payroll Administrator reports to and takes direction from the Director, Industrial Relations & Human Resources. The primary responsibility of the Payroll Administrator is the collection, verification, and processing of all information related to the administration of employee payroll and for providing general administrative support.
**Responsibilities**:
- Supports payroll system setup by ensuring both staff and unionized employee benefit/deduction and payrates are entered accurately
- Enters or supports entry of time sheets into payroll system
- Enters, maintains, and audits employee changes to ensure payroll calculations are accurate
- Provide support, where necessary and requested, for payroll adjustments
- Prepares statements of earnings which indicate gross and net salaries and detail deductions for tax, pension, dues, and other items
- Provides all required information to banking institutions, including employment verification
- Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**:
- Minimum 2 years' of payroll experience
- Experience with unionized payroll is an asset
- Strong attention to detail
- Displays a high degree of accuracy in data entry
- Proven critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
- Organizational and time-management skills
- Intermediate user knowledge of Microsoft Office
**Position Details**
- Work shift cycle is 5 days on 2 days off, Monday - Friday
- Hybrid workplace, ability to work three days a week from home and two days in office
