All of these qualities will help our new Manager, Major Events to successfully fulfill their responsibilities to enhance REAL’s brand-to-guest experience through managing, leading, and directing the development and programming for REAL major events, from concept phase through to event close including post event evaluation. This position is responsible for leading the planning and continuous improvement for existing events; leading the development, creation, and programming for new, profitable events; and creating opportunities to leverage REAL’s campus to amplify REAL’s brand identity and organizational growth through events that make REAL truly the heart of our community and Province. With their Events Coordinator and other business units, dreams can become a reality

Other requirements that would help support this role include:

- A Degree in Business, Marketing, Project Manager, Hospitality/Events Management or a combination of other relevant education, training, and experience
- 5 years of project management, marketing, or sales experience and 3 years’ experience managing and coordinating the work of others.
- A project management certification such as a PMP would be an asset
- Experience and/or knowledge of fairs, exhibitions, and the events and entertainment industry would be an asset
- Financial acumen and ability to think analytically
- Experience creating business documentation and presentations and using technology to assist in project planning and execution
- Experience in a unionized environment is an asset
- Must be able to provide and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check throughout their duration of employment
