Eastside community for over 30 years. VAHS programs are designed by and for urban Aboriginal people
to promote physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual wellness. Our services include a Primary Care Clinic,
a Dental Clinic, a cultural team of Elders and Knowledge Keepers, and Indigenous Early Years programs.
The VAHS Women's Mobile Primary Care (WMPC) program addresses the pressing health care needs
of women in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) community of Vancouver, particularly those facing
homelessness, health issues, mental health and/or substance use challenges. Utilizing a mobile health
unit, the WMPC offers accessible, culturally safe, and responsive healthcare services directly to women in
need, aiming to overcome geographic, temporal, and cultural barriers to healthcare access.
POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Program Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth
operation and success of the WMPC program. This position involves supervising the day-to-day activities
of the program, leading a multidisciplinary team, and collaborating closely with the Program Manager to
implement program strategies, evaluate performance, and facilitate continuous improvement.

- Coordinate program logistics, including mobile unit scheduling, site selection, van stocking and
supplies, and resource allocation
- Monitor activities to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and funder requirements
- If able, drive the WMPC van if the Driver is unavailable
Client Care and Engagement
- Ensure the program effectively meets the needs of the client population, focusing on accessibility,
respect, cultural awareness, and cultural sensitivity
- Oversee intake, assessment, and referral processes to ensure a seamless continuum of care
- Conduct periodic reviews of client files and case notes
- Support the Program Manager in building a case management framework for the program
- Address client concerns and feedback, ensuring a client-centered approach to service delivery
Stakeholder Collaboration and Community Engagement
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners, stakeholders, and other service
providers to enhance program reach and impact
- Represent the program in community forums, workshops, and meetings to advocate for client
needs and program growth

- Collaborate with the Program Manager in evaluating the program’s effectiveness, identifying areas
for improvement, and implementing strategic changes
- Prepare reports and analyses on program activities, outcomes, and impacts for internal and
external stakeholders
- Develop and implement program evaluation tools and program management approaches
QUALIFICATIONS
