WRT Technician Full - Time

The Water Restoration Technician supports emergency response and restoration projects to ensure the goals and needs of our clients are met in a satisfactory manner. The Water Remediation Technician is capable of implementing water remediation procedures consistent with the IICRCS-500 Standard.

**Job Duties**

Work on job sites providing the following services:

- Water extraction
- Inspection and documentation of affected areas by means of moisture mapping the affected area, inclusive of temperature, relative humidity and MC moisture content readings
- Equipment set up and monitoring
- Mould remediation
- Moving & re-setting contents
- Demolition and clean up as required to accommodate the drying process, restoration of property after damage from insurable perils
- Disposal of debris

Must be ready to attend emergency service calls after regular business hours as required by the employer.

Repairs
- Perform various repairs including painting, drywall, insulation, plaster etc.
- Assist other crew members or foreman as required.

Participate as directed in the following activities:

- Vehicle safety and maintenance inspections
- Ensure vehicle is cleaned and restocked at end of shift
- Constructing polyethylene enclosures
- Maintaining equipment

Will practice good housekeeping at all times to ensure a safe and non-cluttered worksite.

Provide excellent customer service.

Work under time constraints to meet specific timelines.

Ensure attention to detail and keen sense of safeguarding other people’s property and information.

Participates in and demonstrates an understanding of safety principles and practices; follows all safety policies and procedures to support a safe working environment, including safe operation of machines and equipment.

Comply with all Moderno policies and procedures, as well as legislative requirements

Proactively communicate job site conditions and concerns that may or are affecting completion of the job to the appropriate person.

Attend Moderno sponsored training courses.

**Qualifications**:

- IICRC certification for Water Restoration Technician (WRT) required
- IICRC certification for Applied Microbial Remediation Technician (AMRT) an asset
- 2+ years industry related experience, Construction / Restoration / Insurance preferred
- Must have G Driver's License
- Familiarity with chemical products including use, disposal, and Safety Data Sheets
- Comprehensive understanding of customer service, principles and practices
- Eligible to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to work within a team or independently as needed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer and/or Tablet / iPad experience
- Willing to work evenings, on call and weekends when requested
- Periodic travel may be required
- Criminal Record Check

Physical Demands
- Frequent lifting from 5-40 lbs, unassisted (from 35-65% of the time)
- Occasional lifting from 41 lbs +, assisted (up to 50% of the time)
- Access and mobility in tight spaces
- Fit Testing - half and full face mask as needed, annual certification required
- Working at Heights - over 5 feet, periodically
- Sustained periods of standing, sitting, walking, bending, and kneeling

Compensation

$25-$27/hour

Full time 9am -5pm Monday to Friday

**Salary**: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Toronto, ON M1P 3E6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- WRT Technician: 2 years (required)
