**Description**:
Reporting to the Dean of Science, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate students in the Faculty of Science.

This course provides an introduction to computer graphics and visualization. Basic properties of display devices, graphics objects, and common graphics operations will be identified. The use of colour, texture, lighting, and perspective will be surveyed. Development using graphics packages, including GPU programming, will be introduced. The background for the development and use of visualization techniques is also covered.

**Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:
The primary responsibility of the applicant is to develop and teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course on computer architecture at the university level within the parameters of the course description listed in the Calendar. In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment, utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the Sessional Lecturer will deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments. The Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver, and grade all course material and assignments (with assistance from Teaching Assistants) and be available for consultation with students during and following completion of the course session. The seasonal lecturer is responsible for compiling and submitting the final grades for individual students in a timely fashion.

- A proven commitment to providing innovative and inclusive teaching strategies
- Evidence of an ability to work in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to maintain effective relationships with a range of faculty, staff and students
- Demonstrated experience with the following skills:

- GPU Programming
- C/C++ Programming
- Graphics Package Development
- Advanced Math (Linear Algebra)

**Recommended Skills**:

- Excellence in teaching undergraduate students in a Computer Science program
- Knowledge and experience with the LMS, Canvas, or a similar alternative
- Experience managing large classes and diverse student populations
- Experience coordinating and supervising Teaching Assistants as applicable
- Organizational skills are needed to effectively manage course delivery, the marking of assignments and exams and the ability respond to student enquiries in a timely manner

**Education**:

- Graduate degree (MSc or PhD) in Computer Science or a related field
