**Let’s make Power Plants Obsolete.**
The current, centralized electricity system is not sustainable. Between the climate crisis, state-wide blackouts, aging infrastructure, and rising costs, the system needs a huge overhaul. The demand for electricity is high - and getting higher - and big power plants aren't meeting our needs. We say it's time to disrupt and decentralize.
At Peak Power, we're energy nerds that develop software for the real estate sector. Our tech turns commercial buildings and industrial facilities into hubs in a new, decentralized electricity system. This means cleaner, more reliable, and more affordable electricity. We’re powering the clean energy revolution.
Peak Power has developed a comprehensive software platform that alleviates strain on the electricity grid and drives value to owners of clean energy assets, buildings, and electric vehicles (EVs) through electricity markets.
**The Opportunity**
Reporting to the CEO, the Chief of Staff will be pivotal in supporting the CEO to collaborate with executive team members to determine and prioritize business strategies. You are the right-hand person and force-multiplier to the CEO. You will work on critical problems at the cutting edge of business as you leverage technology to focus on creating wins across the organization.
This work matters. Even a small change to optimize power utilization can significantly impact our customers, electrical grid, and environment. We're building something that will have a lasting, positive impact.
**Our new Chief of Staff will**:
- ** Deliver**. You enable leaders to do their best work. You use excellent time management, prioritization, and project management skills to gather information and insights while working through solutions with the CEO
- Propose the creation of new systems and processes to streamline cross-functional processes
- Lead and partner on special projects for areas across the business including business development, strategy, finance and operations
- Focus on identifying areas to improve and ensure alignment using a people-centric approach across teams on the organization’s highest priorities
- ** Report**. You will define and improve our business metrics, and streamline reporting of key information to important stakeholders through processes that provide transparency and tracking
- Collaborate with executives on the creation of board updates
- Manage communications such as company-wide updates, all-hands meetings and presentations
- ** Collaborate**. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills to enable effective partnerships that require input, buy-in, and execution across multiple departments
- Work in partnership with executives toward building decision-making frameworks that drive alignment
- Identify bottlenecks and blind spots while transitioning successful initiatives to all parts of the organization
- Participating and supporting Peak’s Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) initiatives
- ** Grow**. You are stoic and a critical thinker who can seize opportunities to create value for Peak Power’s long-term vision for optimizing power utilization and energy storage. The Chief of Staff is a time-limited position and you can transition to another senior role in the organization.
**What you bring to Peak Power**:
- ** The experience and education.** You have 5+ years with a bachelor’s or master’s degree with professional experience working as a management consultancy, technology company or early-stage startup. You have proven experience delivering success in a fast-paced, multi-tasking role where you are comfortable working autonomously.
- ** The drive and curiosity. **You have a roll-up-your-sleeves attitude and are motivated to solve problems and support the organization’s success. You are passionate about contributing to innovative solutions to climate change.
- ** The flexibility. **You are flexible to adapt your activities as needed to support evolving team priorities in a rapidly changing business environment. You are comfortable with ambiguity and are willing to figure things out when there is no clear, defined path or process outlined. You have proactiveness in identifying problems & finding solutions.
**So why Peak Power?**
We are focused on solving problems that impact energy markets both locally and around the world. We are a growth-stage clean technology company that has partnered with major names in real estate, electricity, and smart city spaces. To work with us is not only to work with an exciting company, but to also be on the cutting edge of the global transition to distributed, clean, and carbon-free energy.
