In this role, you will oversee all communications and public and government affairs activities for a region, cluster of countries or Business Unit. You are a business adviser who promotes and protects Mondelēz International’s reputation by managing all media relations, crisis and issues communications, internally and externally, as well as public and government affairs advocacy, using integrated and strategic communications.

**How you will contribute**

You will drive the communications and government affairs agenda for the area in which you operate for all internal and external communications including media relations, stakeholder and political engagement, and partner with business unit leaders to support all aspects of internal and external communications and corporate affairs. In addition, you will be responsible for public affairs advocacy, government relations, trade association and issues management, by promoting leadership categories through effective external media engagement (including social media management), risk and issues management, best practice engagement systems and empowerment of team members. You will develop and implement the government affairs plan to enable the company to meet business objectives and to level the playing field in the industry, implement a local community engagement strategy aligned to global Mondelēz International philanthropic efforts, and ensure activities are delivered within budget.

The **Head, Corporate & Government Affairs, Canada**will oversee all communications (internally and externally) and public and government affairs activities for the Canada Business Unit. You are a business advisor who promotes and protects Mondelēz International’s reputation (its brands and its people), by managing all media relations, crisis, and issues communications, internally and externally, as well as public and government affairs advocacy, using integrated and strategic communications.Although primarily responsible for Canada, all MDLZ CGA team members are expected to think and act globally, collaborating with colleagues from around the world to create and share best practices and leverage and create campaigns and content which can be rolled out across all Business Units.

**Responsibilities include**:

- Public and Government Affairs: Protect the MDLZ license to operate in Canada and defend against measures that restrict or limit our ability to do business with proactive strategies that engage key political leaders, decision and policy makers and other relevant opinion leaders
- External Communications: Build and protect corporate brand with govt, stakeholders and media, while safeguarding deep heritage of iconic brands and counselling on brand PR efforts. Advance and protect company/brand reputation with through external communications/media relations in Canada. Monitor and report progress.
- Internal Communications: Support business growth agenda through impactful and engaging colleague communications across the Canadian business unit, as well as support the Canada market leader/MondelēzCanada Leadership Team with leadership comms.Leverage colleague communications to advance business and brand priorities while fostering and improving colleagues' sense of belonging and engagement within the Canada business. Monitor and report progress. Strong role in managing culture, change and business transformation plans, through strategic mindset and execution on internal communication plans and campaigns.
- Newsroom: Ensure team contribution to Newsroom (Communications Center of Practice (COP)) and other global functional forums, supporting projects (technical or content) which create shared practices and learnings across different markets.
- SSMT/Media: Senior Canadian Spokesperson to the media and lead Canada CGA in the SSMT process. Act as key spokesperson on issues/crisis to the media. (Including serving as “deputy” to CGA Lead for NA on SSMT)
- Advance the reputation of MDLZ Canada internally and externally by driving implementation of global/regional/country-specific Mondelēz International (MDLZ) Corporate & Government Affairs (CGA) plan and efforts, in line with local business and regional priorities.
- Serve as the CGA Lead on the Mondelēz Canada Leadership Team (MCLT) and engage with and support leaders and members
