Quality Control Associate

**Location**:HWY 403 & Dundas St W, Mississauga
**Shift**: This position will provide a full time schedule covering out operational hours from Tuesday to Saturday from 7:30am-4:00pm. Availability to work outside these hours will be required as per business needs.
**About the Role**
As a Quality Control Associate you will take a hands-on approach to maintaining our product quality control processes and monitoring our food safety requirements. Reporting to the FSQA Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring our customers are being provided with safe, great tasting meals.
**What you will be doing**:
- Ensure compliance of products with regulatory requirements through monitoring of product labeling and CCP compliance
- Perform quality control inspections on work-in-progress and finished products to ensure products meet Company Standards
- Act as primary point of contact for Food Safety issues on the production lines
- Communicate with cross-functional teams in cases of product non-conformance and implementation of measures to bring non-conforming products back into compliance.
- Create tickets when escalations are required for product non-conformances.
- Maintain accurate reports and records (ex. CCP records, line verification records).
- Work in compliance with OH&S acts and regulations.
- Use personal protective and safety equipment and clothing as directed by the employer and report workplace hazards and dangers to the supervisor or employer.

**At a minimum, you have**:
- Post-secondary education in Biological, Chemical or Food Sciences diploma
- 6 Months to 1 year experience working in QC/QA in a food processing, manufacturing or service industry
- Understanding the Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and GFSI schemes
- Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, varying shifts and holiday work, as required
- Willing and able to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
- Has experience with standing for prolonged periods of time including regular bending, twisting and walking
- Willing and able to work in a dynamic environment, which can include warm/humid or cold temperatures
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbal and written
- Familiar with MS Office, Google Apps and comfortable learning new technologies.
- Ability to prioritize, remain calm and alert while multitasking in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment, in addition to having strong interpersonal skills.
- Level 1 First Aid is considered an asset.
