The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-For-Profit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-PASS, food services, and the student health and dental plan. **Position**:Clubs and Associations Assistant
**Work Schedule**:Full-Time, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)
**Duration**: July 2, 2025 to August 29, 2025
**Salary**: $19.23 per hour
**Reporting to**: Clubs and Associations Coordinator
**Position Description**
The Clubs & Associations Assistant will have hands-on involvement in growing the SUS Clubs & Associations (C&As) Program. This role will create new and innovate ways to connect with C&As on campus and promote the SUS C&A program to the community. This role requires active collaboration with the C&As Coordinator and liaison with C&As, those who are interested in starting or joining a C&A. As the C&A Assistant, you will require expertise in time management, interpersonal communication, and problem-solving skills.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Collaborate and brainstorm with the Clubs & Associations Coordinator
- Open and close The SUB Clubhouse
- Assist the Clubs & Associations Coordinator in setting up materials for meetings or events in The SUB Clubhouse
- Provide students with information about SUS C&A procedures and the Club platform QPay
- Assist the Clubs & Associations Coordinator with C&As events
- Proposes creative ways to promote and recognize C&As on campus
- Assist in helping the Programs & Services Team if needed (mínimal evening and weekend work may be required)
- Provide information for new clubs and associations during the registration process, reach out to the UFV Community, and actively provide information to students to promote the creation of new C&As
**Qualifications and Experience**
**JEDI Experience**: Recognizing the importance of Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion initiatives as well as knowing how to administer them in community setting;
**Organizational and Time Management**: Be able to set project priorities and successfully execute projects within a specified timeframe;
**Problem Solving**: Ability to address and come up with solutions to problems that may present themselves;
**Teamwork**: Must be able to collaborate, and support staff operations at SUS;
**Computer Literacy**: Basic level experience with Word and Outlook;
- All qualifications are considered an asset. Training and mentorship will be provided.
**Term of Employment**
This is a temporary summer position (July 2, 2025 to August 29, 2025), great for anyone looking to gain experience. The dates for which are negotiable and can be renewed if agreed upon by the employee and UFV SUS. A weekly schedule will be agreed in advance with the Programs and Events Coordinator and, within reason, accommodate the employee’s academic schedule (if applicable). Priority will be given to current UFV Students
