The VP Digital Products and Technology will set the strategic technology direction for the organization, defining a clear path that supports the various departments to achieve success in their operational goals. The VP Digital Products and Technology will have experience in building and managing complex technological solutions to serve the needs of diverse stakeholders. The VP Digital Products and Technology will lead on increasing automation and digitization of core processes at SOC and its related operations.

SOC has information systems and services that are leveraged by SOC’s many diverse stakeholders: national office staff, chapter organizations, athletes, coaches, volunteers and donors. These systems and services need to continually evolve and be complemented by on-going development to better serve SOC’s stakeholders in new and dynamic ways. Central to this is a transformation to a more data informed approach to enable SOC to effectively and efficiently collect, compile, analyze and report on performance metrics using data management and automation approaches for strategic decision making.

**JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
As a key member of the Leadership Team this individual will lead on enabling data informed decision making at SOC. This position will make strategic decisions, lead project implementations as well as advance overall technology governance, streamlining and standardizing data collection across Canada. Additionally, the VP, Digital Products and Technology will work closely with the VP, Fund Development to secure funding from foundations, corporations and government for information systems initiatives.

In summary, the VP will;
- Provide regular assessments of current IT infrastructure and recommendations on building scalable IT services and capabilities by setting vision, strategy, and implementation of the IT organization in support of successful governance, execution, and delivery of policies and standards for SOC and within the SO movement in Canada;
- Lead in transforming the use of data at SOC to achieve more efficient data processes and better resulting analytics and information. This would include data collection, compilation, presentation, analysis and strategic deployment;
- Partner with leadership team members to plan for the strategic growth of SOC aligning technology capabilities to business objectives;
- Promote national information systems and shared services/support, where applicable, among SOC chapter organizations;
- Identify gaps and opportunities for improved business process quality and efficiency through use of existing or new technology to achieve business value;
- Advance and improve SOC’s adoption and use of information technology;
- Supervise the employees in the Information Systems Department;
- Oversee the development and implementation of end user service platforms;
- Approve vendor negotiations, including service level agreements and ensure proper legal review of contracts, where needed;
- Lead in the development of the annual operational plan and budget for Information Systems;
- As needed, confer with technical staff at Special Olympics International and SOC chapters around best practices, new solutions and collaborative opportunities;
- Other duties as assigned.

**EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS**:

- 7+ years’ experience building data-driven technology organizations focused on digital transformation;
- 5+ years experience as the tech leader in a tech start-up or an emerging division of a large tech organization;
- 3+ years demonstrated success at a charitable/non-profit organization utilizing technology to support fund raising initiatives as well as adding and enhancing solutions for service users;
- Proven experience building and retaining high performance professional information systems teams;
- Demonstrated excellence and success in selecting and implementing a wide variety of technology solutions, both traditional and leading-edge, to solve complex programmatic and business problems;
- Experience with data design, analysis, engineering and enabling a the use of data warehouse and analytics technologies for self-service;
- Excellent understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and extensive experience in managing solutions through the full cycle;
- Ability to explain technical issues and solutions in a manner that is clear and easy to understand, including written and verbal communication;
- Proven experience working under pressure and managing competing priorities;
- Ability to work in a flexible team environment with a focus on internal and external service;
- Bilingualism is an asset;
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours as required, including emergency contact for network outages and critical technical maintenance issues.
