The Legion National Foundation (LNF) is looking for an energetic, inspiring and collaborative fundraising professional to assist in raising funds for Veterans and their families.

The Coordinator Philanthropy & Donor Relationswill work directly with the Director of Development to engage donors in the work of the Foundation and manage various stakeholders. The role will also assist with communications including social media, building community relations, increasing donor engagement, and special events.

**Fund Development and Donor Relations**
- Assist in implementing long-term, sustainable fundraising strategies and initiatives, including monthly, major, planned and annual giving streams, to obtain sufficient funds and stimulate revenue growth
- Assist in implementing effective strategies for donor recognition, stewardship, and engagement to ensure effective donor relations are implemented across all donor levels
- Build mutually respectful relationships with past, current and prospective donors
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
- Assist with donor database analytics and measurement of fundraising initiatives
- Assist with special events to support the LNF including sponsorship

**Community Relations and Volunteer Management**
- Develop connections and positive relationships with individuals, foundations, local businesses
- Work in collaboration with the Director of Development to support the Foundation Board Directors
- Determine and support fundraising roles for stakeholders and committee members in order to promote their involvement with donors and prospective donors.

**Communications**
- Assist in implementing the Foundation’s Communications Plan
- Assist with Foundation’s website content and creative
- Develop and implement social media campaigns
- Maximize communications opportunities on a local, provincial and national level

**Operational Management and Administration**
- Ensure all fundraising observes best practices
- Manage the administrative and operational functions, including policy administration related to raising funds/ managing donor relations, as well as the donor database
- Working with the Foundation’s Director of Development and the finance department to ensure the complete financial, statistical, and accounting records are maintained as determined by CRA
- Work with Director, Development to ensure all donors/stakeholders are thanked, recognized and issued tax receipts
- Manage LNF Board Minutes and Agendas for all Board Meetings

**Qualifications**:

- 5 plus years of relevant fundraising experience
- University degree or College Diploma in Philanthropy, Fundraising Management or a suitable combination of experience and education.
- Proven fundraising success across a wide variety of avenues
- A team player with excellent relationship building, communication, and organizational skills.
- Strategic and innovative thinker that is able to develop and implement new strategies and initiatives.
- Ability to speak passionately to a variety of audiences about the work of the Foundation
- Understanding of social media campaigns and website development and maintenance
- Understanding and experience of best practices in operating and meeting the statutory and regulatory obligations of a charitable organization
- Proficient computer skills including Word and Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience with a donor CRM
- CFRE designation or related professional certification is an asset.
- English essential, French an asset

**Position specific details**
- Full time - 35 hours/week in an office environment - some after hours and weekends required
- Excellent remuneration and benefits package including a Pension Plan
- Pay scale range $60,700 to $71,000
