The purpose of the position is:
To free up the chiropodist’s time for essential income earning actions, and to prolong the longevity of the doctor by protecting against overload. To assist in the expansion of the practice by facilitating the doctor’s treatment delivery, and by carrying out promotional and marketing activities as directed by the doctor.
The results of your actions)
- An effective doctor.
- Patients well treated and very happy with their service/treatment.
- A smooth patient flow in and out of the treatment areas.
**Duties**:
- Bringing patients in the treatment rooms and seeing that they are ready to see the doctor (shoes and socks off, patient comfortably sat and made at ease).
- Seeing that the room are properly stock with everything the doctor needs.
- Notes what will be missing and does the order at the end of the week bore something needs to be rush ordered.
- Sees to the cleaning of the room once the patient has exited and has the room sterilized and ready for the next patient.
- Maintaining acceptable clinic supply and stock levels, keeping track of all back orders. Keeping updated supplier and inventory list on Excel.
- Submits the ordering to the office manager at the end of the week.
- Sterilizing instruments daily and maintaining records and maintaining the autoclave.
- Providing reception duties for the office, scheduling appointments, comfort in using the computers,
- Handling Orthotics in and out of the office, and processing courier pick-ups
- Helps with reception in times of overloads:
- Producing invoices, tacking payments and handling cash/point of sales (when schedule for reception duties)
- Making and receiving phone calls from clients and professionals with enquiries and seeking appointments.
- Balancing daily payments and making preparing for deposits.
- Taking direction from the podiatrists to assist with general office administration.
- Preparing the treatment room before patients are brought in for treatment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Some reception, public service and healthcare experience is required.
- Some medical knowledge, preferably in healthcare setting.
- Pleasant and helpful attitude with an ability to communicate with disabled and elderly clients.
- Detail oriented with excellent listening and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of physically assisting clients
- Computer experience, ability to learn quickly and report back to Podiatrist routinely.
