**Energy Advisor**

**Overview**

**Prerequisites**
- Residential construction practices for low-rise housing
- Energy efficient renovation practices
- Generating computer assisted floor plans to find areas and perimeters
- Building science
- Basic arithmetic, geometry and computers skills
- Data collection skills
- Good client relations
- Sketch-up or CAD

A degree or certificate in Architectural Technology, Building Science or Construction will provide a solid foundation for work as an Energy Advisor.
- a car or access to a car with a valid drivers license

- good verbal and written English and or French language skills
- a University of College Degree
- a computer and a printer
- be able to lift blower door equipment (50lbs)
- be comfortable inspecting attics on a ladder
- must pass a criminal records check
- The EnerGuide Rating System
- Residential construction practices for low-rise housing
- Building science
- Energy simulation modeling using HOT2000
- Mechanical Systems within a home
- Foundation Level Exam
- Energy Advisor Exam
- REA will be responsible for contacting homeowners interested in having Energy audits completed on their homes under the Greener Homes or Enbridge Home Efficient Rebate Programs.
- REAs will educate the Homeowners where necessary on the Home efficiency rebate programs available.
- REA will visit Homeowners and perform pre and post Energy Audits and complete an Energy Audit Report in HOT2000 modelling software.
- REA will go over the Energy Audit Report with the Homeowner and explain to them what cost saving upgrades they are entitled to make their home more energy efficient.

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$120,000.00 per year

**Education**:

- Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
