Welcome to Plant Lyfe. A 100% plant-based cafe.

Located in the heart of Leslieville, Plant Lyfe is a small cafe that focuses on providing guests with a 100% plant-based menu of coffee, smoothies, juices and snacks.

Located on the lower-level of our Lyfe Meditation Studio, we aim to create a safe, warm and welcoming space for people to find a moment of calm and community within the hustle of city-living; to catch up with friends over a cup of coffee; to sit with a book and a cold-pressed juice; to mindfully enjoy a meal.

We aspire to operate our business in a manner that is kind to our people, planet and animals. We strive to offer classes to nourish the mind, food to nourish the body and experiences to nourish the soul.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who’s passionate about plant-food and excited about helping us create a welcoming vibe with a focus on exceptional customer service.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Welcome and greet each and every one of our guests with genuine moments of connection
- Create a positive and friendly environment
- Represent our brand by providing excellent customer service to new and existing guests
- Prepare quick meals including smoothies, juices, salads and other menu items
- Prepare recipe ingredients in advance and throughout shift, as needed
- Work in front of house as well as back of house
- Advanced espresso knowledge and techniques (semi-automatic espresso machine, manual adjustment of grinding and dosing, texturing mylk (microfoam), free-pouring of latte art)
- Take guest orders using the Point of Sale system, accurately handling credit/debit payment processing
- Frequent cleaning, restocking, and upkeep of back-counter, serving counter, seating areas, front of store, and washrooms. Daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment
- Heightened awareness and attention to Covid precautions, as necessary
- Other duties as assigned

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Previous experience in a fast casual food environment required
- Previous experience in a successful espresso bar required
- Food preparation experience required
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Punctual, responsible, and reliable
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Participate in scheduled staff meetings when requested
- Self-starter. Able to multitask and work well under pressure
- Ability to work as part of a team with a variety of staff, professionals, and other members of the community Personal commitment to health and wellness and passionate about healthy and sustainable eating
- Must be able work evenings, weekends, with the availability to pick up shifts when needed.
- Valid First Aid & CPR Certificate preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate preferred
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
