The Department of Medicine is the largest department in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta with over 250 academic faculty members and over 400 trainees (graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and residents).The Department of Medicine's core mission is to undertake outstanding education, research and high-quality clinical care to provide the best possible health outcomes for Albertans. **Position**
The Team Lead-Medical Education (TLME), reporting to the Academic Department Manager (ADM), coordinates and oversees the administration activities supporting the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry Department of Medicine (DoM) within the College of Health Sciences clinical education programs. The position works closely with the Directors of Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Clinical Fellowships, the Associate Chair, Education for the Department, the Program Directors, Program Coordinators, Competence Committee Chairs and Academic Advisors to support the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) accredited training programs. The Office of Medical Education team supports activities in undergraduate medical education, core Internal Medicine residency, subspecialty residency programs, accredited fellowship programs and non-accredited clinical fellowships. Reporting to the Academic Department Manager, the TLME supervises a team of Program Coordinators who provide day-to-day coordination of education programs in the department and assists team members in understanding assigned roles and performance objectives. Strives to build a collaborative team through guidance, training, and mentorship. This includes providing regular guidance to residents, fellows, and undergraduate learners on various aspects of their training programs. The TLME coordinates learner recruitment, registration, and graduation activities. The TLME has supervisory, budgetary, and committee responsibilities and is responsible for writing and/or editing all major sources of reference for the Office of Medical Education.

More than 1,100 academic and clinical faculty, students, residents and fellows help achieve our goal of improving health and health care locally and globally. These efforts are supported by more than 300 health, technical and support staff.
**Duties**
Education Program Support (50%)
The TLME oversees the activities for the following programs:
- Oversees program budgets, and develops reports for the Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) program grants and PGME learning resources.
- Provides data and analysis to the Associate Chair, Education regarding financial issues to support decision-making.
- Reviews and verifies preceptor payments for the department.
- P-card holder for medical education.
- Acts as an internal control for SupplyNET orders under $500.
