Construction Project Estimator

Excavation company in the Niagara area currently seeking an experienced and motivated estimator.
The estimator will be responsible to deliver properly organized estimates, budgets, and schedules. Ensuring the necessary systems and procedures are implemented.
- **Key Responsibilities**_
- Estimate projects, lead the tendering process, and budget preparation
- Responsible for the accuracy of tender submissions
- Make sure a detailed analysis of the contract documents and specifications has been completed to ensure overall project requirements are met
- Reach out to suppliers for material costs
- Determine project specific labor and equipment rates to be used throughout estimating process
- Complete detailed and accurate quantity take-offs related to all labor, equipment, and materials required as per contract drawings, specifications, and addenda to ensure accuracy during estimate
- Prepare overall project estimate and projected construction schedule
- Maintain documents and correspondence related to active project estimates
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and suppliers
- Follow-up on potential project leads and previously submitted bids
- Perform additional estimating related assignments as required
- **Knowledge & Skills**_
- Minimum 5 years experience in the construction field
- Minimum 5 years of excavation and site servicing estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction costs
- Negotiation skills
- Computer literate
- Self motivated with a strong attention to detail
- Ability to work accurately under pressure
- Ability to work with others as a team
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to multi task
- Competent understanding of construction specifications, methods and procedures
- Knowledge related to bid preparation and quantity take-off procedures
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Ability to use Earthworks Pro software is considered an asset
- Able to start ASAP
