**WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR**

KPC Power needs an experienced **HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR-EXCAVATOR/SKID STEER** for our growing business.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Operates an excavator/skid steer, its attachments and ground engaging equipment in various types of projects across the high voltage electrical industry. He/she inspects, maintains, transports and operates this equipment and its attachments. Specifically, a Heavy Equipment Operator — Excavator/Skid Steer clears land of brush and debris, lowers grades to account for grounding grid installations, excavates trenches for electrical conduits, and returns land to proper grade with proper compaction and material following engineered plans.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Monitors equipment performance
- Loads and unloads, transports, cleans, oils and refills equipment
- Reads and interprets government legislation, site plans and manufacturers’ manuals (i.e., survey indicators)
- Installs, operates and removes attachments (i.e., quick attach, buckets, rakes, levels, etc.)
- Performs operations, such as excavating, grading, trenching, stockpiling, backfilling and towing, ensuring maximum productivity
- Checks grades, performs cut and fil operations, backfills trenches and excavations, creates slopes, creates mass excavations, clears land, strips surface materials, stockpiles and places materials, lifts materials.
- Communicates through various techniques including hand signals
- Performs pre-operational inspections, safety and operational checks, preventative maintenance

**WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU**
- Minimum 5 - 10 years’ operating experience
- Class “AZ” driver’s license and competence in loading, unloading, and transporting equipment to various sites
