**I. Purpose of Position/Accountability Description**:
The Accounting Analyst is a critical member of the Financial Operations team and is responsible for various accounting segments of the Canadian Sunstar business. The primary mandate is to perform accounting, payables, receivables, and other administrative tasks related to processing accounts payable and receivable transactions.

**II. Principal Duties**
- AP - posting AP invoices, processing payments, and filing payment support
- 3-way matching and checking for accuracy of AP invoices
- Generate AP payments through various payment methods (EFT, cheques on a bi-weekly basis)
- Backup for AR - Process AR payments in AS400, returns, deductions and claims
- Approve/Decline credit holds for customers on a case-by-case basis
- Perform collection calls on overdue accounts
- Prepare PDP packages with proper supporting documents from customer portals to be sent to Retail team for approvals.
- Maintain organized files/records
- Collaborate with team members to resolve issues in a timely manner.
- Support the Accounting Manager with Month End processing.

**III. Job Specifications**

**A. Education**

1. Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics.

**B. Knowledge/Experience/Skills**

1. Minimum of five years’ experience working in Accounting.

2. Solid understanding of AP and AR processes

3. Exhibit a strong working knowledge of AS400/D365.

4.Proficiency using Accounting Software/ERP.

5. Demonstrate solid analytical and problem-solving skills.

6. Detail oriented and organized with strong follow through skills.

7. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.

8. Ability to interact effectively with all customers, vendors, staff, and all SAI personnel.
