Afterschool Assistant

**About us**

Little Pumpkins Inc provides licenced child care spaces to children in the Kentville and surrounding area.

Care starts at age 18 months up to 12 years, we are open Monday to Friday, 6:30 am
- 6:00 pm, all year round.

For any position you will require;
- Current CPR-C
- Child Abuse Registry letter less than 2 yrs old
- Vulnerable sector check (criminal record check) less than 2 years old.

Your duties may include program planning (designing and implementing planned activities daily), supply management, daily cleaning - tidying, sanitizing, sweeping and mopping. Receiving children off the school bus from King county academy school district, promoting hand washing techniques and serving snack.

We go outside daily, you need to be prepared and dressed for the weather.

We love getting outside and you must have a love and understanding of the importance of outdoor play and learning. We make messes and we learn to clean them up, everyday the classroom is completely cleaned and tidied, ready for the next day’s fun.

Understanding of the importance of positive behaviour guidance is crucial.

Must be reliable and have reliable transportation - we rarely close unless absolutely necessary; on storm or in-service days, you would be working the full day rather than half the day; 11 m dismissals on half days and 8-5 pm with an hour break on full in-service days.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 15-20 per week

**Salary**: $13.50-$15.00 per hour
