- As Corporate Environmental Specialist - Governance, you will develop, coordinate, integrate and align The City's climate outcomes into corporate-wide strategy, decision-making processes, funding and reporting. Driven by the goals and outcomes defined within the Calgary Climate Strategy: Pathways to 2050, and as a member of the Climate & Environmental Governance and Reporting team, you will work collaboratively across the organization to co-develop and implement corporate climate direction, systems, processes and tools, ensuring organization-wide consistency and quality control related to cross-corporate climate progress and performance. Primary duties include:

- Integrate climate and environmental outcomes, processes and actions into cross-corporate service plans and budgets and coordinate the development of The City's four-year Climate Implementation Plans.
- Develop and manage The City's climate accounting processes (carbon budget and climate budgets, systems and reporting).
- Integrate, manage and report on The City's cross-corporate climate and environmental risks in collaboration with corporate partners.
- Develop corporate-wide systems and tools with cross-corporate partners for the prioritization of high-impact climate and environmental investments in alignment with corporate operating and capital prioritization processes (including ROI, cost benefit analysis and investment impact).
- Develop corporate-wide standardization, assessment and quality control processes over corporate climate and environment data, indicators and metrics.
- Develop and integrate new cross-corporate project management and procurement processes to achieve climate performance and outcomes.
- Support the development of sustainable/green financial and funding tools such as centralized funds/reserves, grants, debt financing and management of carbon assets.
- Support the development of content within Climate and Environmental Analytics System and Dashboards and the reports and disclosures included in The City's Climate Reporting Framework.
- Support internal education, awareness and capacity building in relation to the implementation of cross-corporate climate and environment policies, tools and processes.

**Qualifications**
- A degree and at least 5 years of practical experience in project or program management, including experience in governance, strategic planning, environmental management and/or business planning and corporate systems development.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is essential.
- A degree and/or further education within the climate change, environment, and/or sustainability fields will be considered an asset.
- Previous work experience in climate mitigation, climate adaptation, climate accounting (carbon and climate budgets) and climate data and measurement will be an asset.
- Proven abilities in critical thinking and analysis, strategic planning and leadership, collaboration and relationship-building, customer focus, sound decision-making, political acumen, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and communication.
