Tactical Security Guard - U Security Services

**Location**: Downtown Edmonton

**Job Type**: Temporary (with potential to become Full-Time)
**Start Date**: Immediate. Predicted to last 5-6months, but could extend.

U Security Services is a rapidly growing Edmonton-based company, known for providing trusted security solutions to high-profile clients and events. We are currently seeking a **Tactical Security Guard** to join our downtown operations. This role focuses on managing loitering and related security concerns around commercial buildings, with an emphasis on professionalism, communication, and discretion.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver **exceptional customer service** while maintaining strong client and patron relationships.
- Conduct proactive screening to ensure safety, address policy breaches, and report concerns.
- Respond promptly and professionally to incidents and security occurrences.
- Remain calm and exercise discretion in high-pressure situations.
- Use tactful and effective communication to **de-escalate situations** and coordinate with emergency services (police, fire, paramedics) when required.
- Manage crowd control and remove trespassers as necessary.
- Write accurate and detailed reports, including incident, emergency, liability, and daily activity logs.

**Requirements**:

- Valid **Alberta Security License**.
- Minimum **3 years of directly related security experience**.
- Accredited hands-on training (e.g., **PPCT** or equivalent).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Keen observational abilities with sound judgment.
- Ability to make immediate, composed decisions with mínimal supervision.

Position Details
- **Shifts**: 8 hours in length (flexible start times between 8:00 AM - 1:00 PM).
- **Term**: Temporary, throughout the winter season (with potential to transition into a permanent position).
- **Pay**: $18/hr starting
