Ut Testing Level Ii Supervisor

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
An Ultrasonic Testing Level II Supervisor manages non-destructive testing (NDT) inspectors and ensures that inspections are performed correctly and meet quality standards. They may also train new inspectors and develop new inspection techniques.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up equipment: Calibrate and set up NDT equipment, including ultrasonic test equipment
- Conduct inspections: Perform ultrasonic inspections to detect defects and ensure quality
- Evaluate results: Interpret scan data and evaluate results to determine if parts meet quality standards
- Document results: Record and maintain accurate documentation of inspection processes
- Train others: Train new inspectors and develop training programs for using inspection equipment
- Communicate results: Communicate findings to engineering and production
- Support research: Support research and development to improve inspection techniques
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Ensure all testing activities comply with relevant codes, standards, and specifications, and ensure all inspections are performed in accordance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with clients: Work with clients to identify and remove obstacles, and to participate in safety initiatives
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Level II certification in ultrasonic inspection
- Previous railway or related NDT experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of mechanical principles and inspection procedures
- Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail
- Familiarity with technical documents like blueprints and safety data sheets
- Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to manage unionized staff
- Must have a valid driver’s license G
- Willingness to travel as required
- Availability to work nights and weekends as needed
