** **Position**:Temporary Part-time Custodian (12 hours per week)

Position includes portable classrooms.

** Schedule**:Afternoon Shift (3:30 p.m. start)

Assignment may end earlier than anticipated if incumbent returns earlier than expected.

**Reports to**:**Head Custodian/Assistant Head Custodian/School Principal/Supervisor, Plant Operations

**Note**:CUPE members must abide by all articles in the CUPE Local 1176 Collective Agreement.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- To abide by all Custodial related Plant practices and procedures, as well as follow all Board policies and procedures for Board Employees.
- To complete all assigned tasks.
- To be responsible for notifying the Head Custodian (HC) and/or Assistant Head Custodian (AHC) of repairs required to the building and equipment which are beyond your qualifications.
- To be responsible for equipment checks, minor maintenance and repairs.
- To be responsible for notifying the AHC, and/or HC of security breaches, mechanical or electrical failure or any other unusual circumstances.
- To draw from stock materials needed in meeting duties.
- To receive delivery of supplies and equipment.
- To work closely with our community education partners to help ensure the smooth operation of their events.
- To perform any other custodial duties as may be assigned.

** Qualifications and Experience**:

- A Secondary School diploma or equivalent.
- Access to technology and the Internet
- Must be capable of performing a variety of repetitive, physical work (i.e., lifting, bending, pushing, pulling etc.)

**Assets**:

- Previous experience in commercial/industrial cleaning
- Comfort with basic facility/grounds maintenance
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently with mínimal supervision
- Effective communication skills
- Reliable transportation to and from worksites
