We are seeking an Accounting Technician who will be given the opportunity to work on a variety of engagements for clients in an array of industries. We offer a competitive salary in a relaxed work environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepare journal entries and provide full cycle bookkeeping services as required by clients
- Maintain, monitor and reconcile GL and Sub-ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations, accounts receivable, inventory, prepaid expenses, accounts payable, accrued liabilities, GST and intercompany accounts
- Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies and discuss resolutions with engagement partner
- Prepare payroll and related government remittances
- Prepare GST returns
- Prepare year end tax forms (T4s, WCB reports and T5s)
- Work with accounting software and provide support to clients including set up for new clients
- Assist with compilation, review and tax engagements

**Qualifications**:

- Possess three to five years of full cycle bookkeeping experience
- An Accounting certificate or a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Business Administration would be considered an asset
- Ability to administer and understand full cycle accounting
- Working knowledge of trial balances, general ledger databases and financial statement close processes
- Understanding of payroll and bookkeeping on manual and computerized systems
- Experience working with accounting software such as Sage (Simply) and QuickBooks
- Strong computer literacy including basic skills in Excel
- Ability to manage multiple assignments, adapt to changing priorities and work independently or as part of a team

**Salary**: $17.37-$21.56 per hour

**Experience**:

- Accounting: 1 year (preferred)
