Schedule: 37.50 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**

**EDUCATION**
- Master of Library and Information Science or equivalent
- Undergraduate degree in science is an asset

**EXPERIENCE**
- Experience providing reference services for a variety of clients, specifically using resources related to agriculture, food, aviation, space, science, and technology;
- Experience developing resources to improve access to library collections such as web resources and biblio-guides;
- Experience with collection development (acquisition and weeding) of library materials held in a special collection;
- Experience providing training, coaching, or instruction related to library services and systems;
- Experience with planning and directing projects and initiatives related to libraries;
- Experience administering an integrated library system (ILS) is an asset.

**KNOWLEDGE**
- Knowledge of cataloguing and classification standards (including national and international standards such as RDA, AACR2, LCSH, LC Classification, CSH/RVM, OCLC cataloguing standards);
- Knowledge of the administration of integrated library systems (including system administration, cataloguing, circulation [which include interlibrary loans] and serials control);
- Knowledge of reference interview techniques;
- Knowledge of bibliographic search techniques;
- Knowledge of collection development analysis, strategies, principles, and criteria;
- Knowledge of project management principles;
- Knowledge of Canadian copyright legislation;
- Knowledge of information sources related to agriculture, food, aviation, space, science, and technology is asset.

- Ability to explain, instruct, and train users how to access library systems, services, and materials;

- Ability to manage physical library materials (which may involve stepping up and down on a stool/ladder, bending, crouching, kneeling, stretching, lifting, and carrying);
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and French including reading, writing, and verbal;
- Ability to supervise staff, volunteers, and students.

**Work location**:1865 St. Laurent Blvd. Ottawa ON (will be required to visit Ingenium’s four sites)
