**Pay Range**:$110,000 - $125,000
**Position Overview**:
As the Director of Care for Bellevue Park Senior Living during the pre-opening and opening phase you will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of care for our residents. This leadership position requires strategic planning, collaboration with various stakeholders, and a commitment to creating a supportive and compassionate environment.
This role is in addition to our current Director of Wellness as we offer 75 independent suites with services, and 120 long term care suites. As we plan to see a strong lease up, there will be support required to build processes, intake assessments, resident experience, and building the care departments within Bellevue Park Senior Living.
**Responsibilities**:
**Pre-Opening Planning**:
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and implement pre-opening care plans, policies, assessment goals, and procedures.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless integration of care services within the senior living community.
**Staffing and Recruitment**:
- Recruit, hire and train care staff, ensuring compliance with licensing and certification requirements are met
- Develop and implement orientation programs for care staff during the pre-opening phase.
**Care Program Development**:
- Design and implement resident care programs that prioritize well-being, dignity, and independence.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to create a comprehensive care model tailored to the needs of senior residents.
**Regulatory Compliance**:
- Ensure that all care services meet or exceed regulatory requirements and industry standards set forth by Fraser Health and the province of British
Columbia
- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations and licensing standards.
**Collaboration and Communication**:
- Work closely with other departments, such as activities, dining, and maintenance, to create an integrated approach to resident care.
- Establish effective communication channels with residents, families, and staff.
**Quality Assurance**:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance programs to assess and enhance the quality of care.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
**Training and Education**:
- Provide ongoing training and education for care staff to ensure they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Facilitate continuous learning opportunities to promote professional development.
**Budget Management**:
- Collaborate with the finance department to develop and manage the care services budget for the pre-opening phase.
- Ensure cost-effective delivery of care services while maintaining high quality.
**Resident Advocacy**:
- Advocate for the well-being and rights of residents, ensuring their needs are met with respect and dignity.
- Act as a liaison between residents, families, and the senior management team.
**Emergency Response Planning**:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for health-related situations.
- Ensure staff is trained and prepared to handle various emergency scenarios.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Current provincial nursing license and relevant certifications.
- Proven leadership experience in senior care or a similar healthcare setting.
- In-depth knowledge of senior living regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team of care professionals.
- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to resident care.
- Experience working with Fraser Health would be considered an asset.
Pay: $110,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
