Morning Shift - Monday to Saturday 7:00am - 3:00pm

**Reports To**

Production Manager

**Summary**

The Packing Room Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operation of cut-fruit processing to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with legislation and customer specifications. Requiring a high level of attention to detail, the PRS is responsible for strictly adhering to the organization's production policies, food safety requirements, and identifying defects and or production errors in order to prevent these materials from entering the supply chain. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

**Job Duties**
- Complete work orders that include cutting and packing of fruits and vegetables
- Oversee packaging room agency staff to ensure proper hygiene and food handling practices
- Appoint agency staff their designated duties and perform spot check throughout the shift
- Complete applicable company documentation with accuracy to reflect cut fruit operation
- Maintain Repack/Regrade sheets as well as attendance sheets which dictate working hours and break times
- Plan and organize duties of agency staff as related to their designated positions as required
- Resolve work-related issues whenever and wherever required to accomplish target goals
- Train workers and guide them to resolve any operational problem
- Maintain first in/first out approach - unless otherwise specified
- Stay on top of machinery issues/faults so this can be repaired in a timely fashion
- Ensure products are maintained in the appropriate cooler/temperature
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work environment for food handling including facilities (ie. lunchroom, changeroom, washroom, etc.)
- Communicate all issues with Production Manager and food safety issues to the Food Safety Manager
- Assist with special tasks when needed
- Follow Canada GAP standard requirements and Primus standards
- Other duties relevant to the position will be assigned as required

**Requirements**:

- Diploma or degree in an appropriate or related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of direct work experience in a similar role
- Understanding of food safety, health and safety and packaging processes
- Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams
- Strong problem identification and problem resolution skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required

**Working Conditions**
- Operation of a BT machine and processing machines
- Lifting up to 50lbs as needed
- Cold work environment
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Overtime as required.

**Salary**: $24.00-$26.00 per hour
