Loading Supervisor

Key Responsibilities:
**Hire, train, supervise and discipline warehouse personnel**
Schedule shift operations and maintain a safe workplace
**Maintain inventory control systems to keep records on inventory, goods received and goods shipped**
Develop and maintain materials handling equipment schedules
**Review loading bay activity reports to ensure compliance with quality standards**

**Responsibilities**:

- Interview, hire, and train employees.
- Manage the inventory of products that are to be shipped.
- Oversee equipment used in loading and unloading.
- Manage the loading and unloading of products for different businesses.
- Serve as a liaison between employees and management.

TEAM - must be able to lead/train a diverse group of individuals, and be representative of Company Core Values. This requires working knowledge of computers, including but not limited to the Microsoft Package.

HR - must be able to place ads, screen applicants, hire - following all Benson policies when onboarding, must be able to give safety orientations

LOGISTICS - Must be able to keep trailers coming in and out without issues, communicate with 3rd parties involving trailers, properly secure trailers and teach the team to properly secure the trailer, work with managers to make sure trailers/logistic are thought about way in advance, must be able to deal with seacans

INVENTORY - must be able to count shipping inventory and order accordingly, must be able to look ahead of what is missing before it is required.

INTERNAL - Must be able to work with all team members of all levels of the organization to ensure proper flow of trailers/shipments, work with maintenance to keep trailers properly maintained, must be able to create accurate shipping docs, must be able to learn the paperwork and teach the paperwork

HOURS - managerial positions require working as necessary to complete tasks as assigned. Although we operate on a M-F basis, if working hours need to be adjusted to accommodate schedules, this is required. Saturday work is occasional.

**Qualifying Requirements**
- Legally permitted to work in Canada
- Experience as a supervisor or scheduler
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours in steel toed boots, lift up to 50lbs periodically
- Proven interpersonal/people skills
- Team work ethic
- Valid BC Driver’s license
- Ability to read and write fluently and clearly in English
