What You Will Get To Do

Reporting to the Supervisor, Recreation Customer Service, the Receptionist/Cashier is responsible for providing customer service at the reception desk, via telephone and on-line, including:
- dealing effectively with customer complaints and inquiries, explaining programs, services, policies and procedures regarding health club, fitness and aquatics services, and other facilities and programs for the Town of Whitby;- handling revenue for admissions and program registrations;- reconciling daily receipts;- booking and processing of permits for indoor recreation facilities and community centre pool- promoting, receiving and processing health club memberships;- providing clerical assistance in the form of typing, filing, record keeping, etc.; and- assisting with other projects/duties as may be required.

You love to research and analyze problems: identifying, gathering and processing relevant information to determine possible solutions, evaluate them and make recommendations. As far as you’re concerned, anything worth doing is worth doing right.

What You Bring To Our Team

As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- a secondary school graduation diploma;- six (6) months experience working in a customer service environment;- telephone and cash handling experience;- a demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel);- a demonstrated working knowledge of facility and recreation software ACTIVE Net is preferred;- well-developed keyboarding skills;- the ability to manage multiple phone lines and respond quickly in a busy and dynamic environment while consistently meeting deadlines; and- a valid Police criminal record check to work with the vulnerable sector.

Salary Range/Hourly rate:
$21.84 - $24.18

Flex hours, including days, evenings and weekends (maximum of 24 hours per week).
