**Salary Range - $47.47 to $57.20 per hour**
**Brockville General HOSPITAL** **is a 160 bed, full service community hospital, serving a regional catchment area of up to 135,000. We are located 1 (one) hour from tertiary care centers in Kingston and Ottawa.
**City of Brockville**: Located along Highway 401 beside the St. Lawrence River northeast of Kingston, Brockville is considered to be the eastern gateway to the 1000 Islands region and sits in the beautiful United Counties of Leeds and Grenville. Brockville is less than a day's drive to major North American city centres:

**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Program Manager, Medical Surgical Unit and under the supervision of the Chief Hospitalist, in accordance with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s Delegation on Controlled Acts policy, the Physician Assistant (PA) provides medical care to patients within this scope of practice. Major responsibilities may include providing advice and consultation, data gathering, interviewing patients and their caregivers, conducting physical examinations, ordering medical investigations, and providing patient treatment under supervision of the Most Responsible Physician (MRP).
The PA participates in departmental and hospital-wide activities that model and promote a safe and healthy patient-centered environment, and that contribute to quality improvement and risk management initiatives, in keeping with the mission of the organization.
**Requirements**:
**Education/Specific Training Requirements**:
- Graduate of the McMaster or Consortium Physician Assistant Program
- Graduate from an accredited education program for physician assistants and certified as a Physician Assistant by the Canadian Academy of Physician Assistants.
**Required Certification**:
- Successful completion of the Canadian Physician Assistant certification exam
- BCLS
- ACLS
**Relevant Experience**:
- Experience with shared decision-making and leadership techniques
- Demonstrated expertise in in decision-making and evidence -based practice (Choosing Wisely)
- Effective problem solving skills
- Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and development
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills
- Demonstrated ability to work in in a collaborative practice model with an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrated change management skills.
- Demonstrated skills in adult physical and mental health assessment
- Good attendance and availability required
