THE OPPORTUNITY & YOUR ROLE Brockville General Hospital (BGH) is seeking experienced psychiatrists to join its dynamic Mental Health Department. This is an unparalleled opportunity to build a rewarding practice and shape a role that aligns with your professional passions. You will have the flexibility to provide a blend of inpatient, outpatient, and Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) services. The full‑time inpatient caseload is manageable, estimated at just 6‑8 patients. With a call schedule of typically one weekday and one to two weekend days per month, a healthy work‑life balance is highly achievable. In affiliation with Queen's University, you will also have significant opportunities to teach medical learners and residents. You will thrive in a well‑supported environment that includes 29 inpatient beds, a dedicated crisis team in the ER, and extensive allied health support. The multidisciplinary team includes social workers, occupational therapists, and psychotherapists, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The department also collaborates with other community hospitals, providing an opportunity for wider regional impact. YOUR QUALIFICATIONS The ideal candidate will have an M.D. or equivalent and be certified, or eligible for certification, with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Psychiatry. Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) is essential. A full‑time psychiatrist can anticipate an estimated annual gross income of over $400,000. You'll receive a guaranteed $900 per weekday stipend plus fee‑for‑service billings. On‑call coverage (HOCC) is an estimated $750 for every 24‑hour call. You may also be eligible for the Canada Student Loan Forgiveness program. To support your transition, BGH offers a $25,000 interest‑free loan for a five‑year commitment and up to $12,000 in relocation assistance.
