Program Supervisor- Healing Homes

**SUMMARY**:Reporting to the Director of Youth Care Services, the Healing Homes Program Supervisor works in partnership with the Youth Care Professionals, other professionals, youth and families in developing an overall healing process within the program and supports for the individuals residing in the Healing Home. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the program as well as the case management of all that are accessing this program and all personnel matters related to the staff team and programming. This position supports and supervises the Youth Care Professionals who are required to provide ongoing, culturally sensitive care while adhering to organizational policies and procedures and expectations.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**: of the Healing Home Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
- Develops, with the Youth Care Professionals, other professionals, placing agency social worker, youth, and family, with specific goals, Healing, and Support Plans for each individual;
- Collaborates with the Assessment Clinician, placing agency social worker, client, family, and appropriate collaterals in the development of treatment plans and goals or assessment planning for each client;
- Play an active role in providing individual(s) opportunities to grow relationships, as well as teaching and assisting the individual(s) in developing interpersonal skills;
- Ensures that these plans are then implemented by the Youth Care Professionals and that all activities, routines and interactions are therapeutic and philosophically congruent with the program;
- Is responsible for the overall case management for all clients, ensuring the Assessment Clinician’s input into all aspects of placement for each client;
- Be an advocate for justice, inclusion, and full community participation on behalf of vulnerable persons; help the individual(s) understand their rights;
- Provides opportunities for individual(s) to participate in their community;
- Maintain positive and effective communication;
- Ensures that the referral, intake and discharge processes are conducted in accordance with Provincial and Agency standards and procedures;
- Ensuring that all required financial documents are completed and remitted on time; providing receipts for all purchases and reporting mismanagement of funds;
- Ensures that all documentation is clear, accurate, and professional and complies with Licensing, Program standards, and The Link policies and procedures;
- Hires, supervises, and evaluates all Youth Care Professionals in accordance with Agency standards;
- Ensures the physical maintenance of the facility and its contents and property as well as all equipment and vehicles purchased for the program;
- Works in consultation with other Healing Homes Supervisors, Clinical Case Managers, Therapists and the Manager of Operations to ensure continuity and communication;
- Attends The Link All Management and Program Staff meetings and contributes to the overall functioning of The Link.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- A Human Services degree or a management or related degree, diploma or certificate (a combination of experience and education) will be considered.
- Five (5) years of related experience with at-risk youth and in a supervisor capacity.
- Clinical counseling training/experience.
- Knowledge of FASD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personalities, and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder would be an asset.
- Effective problem-solving ability and strong communication skills.
- The ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
- A valid Class 5F driver’s license and use of a personal vehicle is required. A current Driver’s Abstract must be provided.
- First Aid & CPR is required, certificate in NVCI/MANDT and ASSIST is preferred.
- Willingness to attend workshops and training programs is required.
- Must be available for after hour calls.
- Demonstrated supervisory and program management experience, excellent interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to be an effective team member.
- Must possess a working knowledge of systems theory as well as be able to operate from a developmental perspective with a knowledge of solution focused approach to treatment and FASD.
- Completed Youth Care Worker Core Competency Based Training (Supervisor) or willingness to attend the training.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, a clear Child Abuse Registry check with acceptable Prior Contact checks and a clear Adult Abuse Registry check, all done within the last 3 months.
- Knowledge of administrative and financial processes would be an asset.
