The Link operates a broad suite of programs including a 24-hour crisis line, youth resource centers, emergency shelters, mobile crisis teams, specialized foster care, healing homes, job readiness supports, and Skills4Life in Manitoba. Summary The Team Lead in our Kookum's Healing Home will assist the Healing Home Supervisor in daily operations and development of the home. They will collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other programs to support a strengths-based, trauma-informed, relational child and youth care approach that promotes youth strengths, potential, and growth. They will provide programming inclusive to all youth and uphold inclusive practices regarding culture and ceremony for children, youth, and their care providers. Primary Responsibilities Provide coverage for the Kookum's Healing Home Supervisor during scheduled absences, fulfilling all responsibilities of the Healing Home Supervisor Complete administrative duties as assigned by the Healing Home Supervisor (e.g., interviewing and hiring Youth Care Practitioners) Schedule, coordinate, and train casual Youth Care Practitioners Coordinate orientation for new staff Distribute information to the team and coordinate meetings and home maintenance Manage financial and purchasing responsibilities (replenishing household supplies, petty cash) Mentor Youth Care Practitioners Engage in ongoing professional development to meet evolving employment needs Participate in meetings, promote teamwork, and model positive behavior for youth Support program adherence to The Link treatment philosophy, policies, and protocols; represent the program and organization professionally Understand the Child and Family Services system in Manitoba, with emphasis on Indigenous communities and the impacts of inter-generational and historical trauma Foster collaboration while sharing credit with the team Qualifications Child and Youth Care Worker diploma/certificate (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years in youth care Understanding and appreciation of Indigenous issues in child welfare Knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to prepare incident reports and correspondence Ability to handle sensitive situations and confidential information in a multidisciplinary team Knowledge and respect of Indigenous cultures, languages, traditions, and practices; Indigenous lens focused on strengths and community Awareness of intergenerational barriers and oppression faced by Indigenous peoples Knowledge of child in care, school, and family systems; child welfare experience preferred Strong analytical and critical thinking skills; adaptability with compassion Willingness to reflect and seek guidance to ensure alignment with organizational mission and values Conditions of Employment ASIST Certificate or willingness to obtain Crisis de-escalation training or willingness to obtain Emergency First Aid and CPR Level C or willingness to obtain Satisfactory Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search, Child Abuse Registry, and Adult Abuse Registry checks within last 3 months Valid Class 5F driver’s license and acceptable driving abstract (subject to approval) Accommodations are available for applicants with disabilities upon request. Working Hours: Full-Time, 80 hours biweekly. Various shifts including days, evenings, some overnights, weekends, and holidays. Salary Range: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour, with access to paid vacation, paid sick leave, paid personal days, benefit plan, and pension plan when eligible.
