Wall Plant Operations Manager

We are seeking **an experienced Operations Manager** to to oversee our company's daily operations and ensure efficiency and productivity. This role leads a team in a production line environment ensuring a high-quality product is produced in a brand-new modern light gauge steel stud wall panel manufacturing plant.

This role is suited for someone who has previously worked in a management role in a steel shop or manufacturing environments. You are the right person for the job if you are a creative strategic thinker and hands-on contributor who will bring efficiency and ideas to the table to increase our output, capability, and quality.

**What you will do**:

- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of professionals who are productivity driven while being great people to work with.
- Manage all people-related activities in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
- Assess technology platforms for feasibility and lead improvements or implementation of new software.
- Resolve technology-based file transfer issues between design files and production machinery.
- Working with Finance, responsible for financial reporting and financial forecasting activities.
- Develop and implement operational strategies, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency.
- Manage the flow of drawings from the design team to the production floor ensuring steady flow of work is maintained.
- Work closely with the Safety Manager to ensure the OHS Program effectively achieves our long and short-term safety goals and objectives.
- Monitor operations and production planning with focus on long-term outcomes.
- Manage operational budgets and resources effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and enhance overall performance.
- Develop Quality Programs that meet CWB requirements.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to optimize operations.
- Develop vendor and inventory management strategy and create long and short-term plans to achieve longer term goals.

This role is suited for someone who has previously worked in a management role in a steel shop or manufacturing environments.

**Experience**:

- Experience in a sheet metal or fabrication shop is ideal with solid knowledge of industry best practices and current trends in operations management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field with strong knowledge of finance and cost control.
- Strong technical / software ability with experience selecting and implementing new software, equipment and processes.
- Proven experience in an operations management role.
- Strong leadership abilities with the capability to motivate and guide a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
