**Duties**:
Incumbent manages a scope of duties that fall under the Mission’s American Personnel Services portfolio. Incumbent is one of three Human Resource Assistants providing a full range of HR services to American employees serving in Mission Canada. The Human Resources Office oversees HR management for Embassy Ottawa and seven constituent posts. Mission Canada is represented by 32 agencies, with approximately 1000 Direct Hire American personnel and family members and 373 LE Staff. Responsible for coordination of all EFM matters and processes from the beginning of their arrival to the departure date in accordance with relevant policies and procedures. Works as the main Point of Contact and Mission expert on all EFM matters. Provides advice and support to the Embassy management and other customers at the constituent posts on a variety of EFM matters (recruitment, performance, benefits, leave programs, access to HR online systems, pay issues, etc).

JOB KNOWLEDGE: A general knowledge of the organization and functions of the various agencies in Mission Canada. Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, presented and practices used in dealing with accreditation and matters relating to diplomatic/consular status; understanding of Canadian immigration and Foreign Affairs regulations relating to operation of a diplomatic mission and familiarity with US/Canada treaties and agreements.

Minimum of two-years of post-secondary school in general area

LANGUAGE: Fluent (Level IV) writing/speaking/reading in English. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must be able to remain composed, professional and productive even in demanding circumstances. Treat all with respect and demonstrates sensitivity to status, protocol relationships and chain of command. Must interact effectively in official encounters. Must have good basic writing skills to draft simple letters and be able to type 40 words per minute. Must have good verbal communication skills and be able to perform duties with discretion. Must have excellent organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills and be able to work well under pressure.

The pay plan is assigned at the time of the conditional offer letter by the HR Office.
