**About the Organization**:
Victim Services of Durham Region (VSDR) is a non-profit, community-based organization that provides assistance to individuals who have been impacted by crime or sudden tragedy. We work to prevent violence through awareness and education. We also provide prevention programming and training for parents, professionals, youth and the community.

The Child and Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) is a division of Victim Services of Durham Region. The Program Director position is housed within the CYAC and is supported by the Victim Services of Durham Region. The CYAC is a child-focused centre in which multi-disciplinary teams provide coordinated seamless interdisciplinary services to children and youth who have experienced abuse or maltreatment. CYAC’s aim is to provide trauma-responsive, culturally safe, and accessible services that are child and family centred.

A partnership among local Indigenous, community, and government agencies, Durham CYAC will bring together professionals involved in child abuse cases to reduce a child’s trauma in repeatedly telling their experience of abuse. The developing Durham CYAC is founded on an accessible, anti-oppressive, anti-racist, inclusive equity framework. The CYAC will provide services in a way and delivered in a setting that is inclusive and meets the individual’s unique needs, recognizing the intersectionality that can occur for clients including: an indigenous worldview, gender identity and expression, and anti-black racism.

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a full-time Program Director to plan and coordinate the development of a Child and Youth Advocacy Centre in Durham Region. You will lead a small team and manage day to day operations. The centre is about to open. We are looking for someone who is energized by a challenge, has demonstrated experience building a dynamic not-for-profit and someone who understands how to engage the community.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide oversight of the CYAC’s operations in close collaboration with the Executive Director, and other multi-disciplinary partners
- Develop and implement the organization’s strategic and operational plans including data collection
- Assist with fund development, grant writing and reporting Demonstrated understanding and high degree of fiscal responsibility, budget management and accountability in meeting grant targets
- Utilizing an Equity Framework complete the development, implementation and drafting of policies, partner agreements and Memoranda of Understanding pertinent to the multi-disciplinary collaboration and coordination of services
- Support with the development and drafting of protocols and service pathways for multi-disciplinary procedures, case documentation and information sharing
- Oversee the coordination and delivery of multi-disciplinary training programs pertinent to the operation of a CYAC
- Supervise and support a small team of frontline staff. The Program Director will have a demonstrated skillset in effectively managing conflict and providing trauma-informed supervision
- Support the well-being of staff and stakeholders by fostering and encouraging a positive working environment
- Prepare for, attend and support with chairing the CYAC Development Committee meetings
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with key partners, community groups, and those with lived experience
- Promote public awareness of, and support for, the CYAC by producing educational and promotional materials and attending community events
