WCMRC is recruiting for a
**Temporary Full Time (1 year contract) IT Support Technician** to join our team in
**Burnaby, BC.**
Reporting to the Manager, Information Systems - the primary responsibilities of this position include:
- Provide training to staff on usage of newly implemented systems.
- Respond to system alerts and performing advanced troubleshooting with a focus on resolving complex issues.
- Provide support and maintenance for Infrastructure systems.
- Ensure project documentation is complete and archived appropriately following project completion.
- Ensure the proper setup and operation of Microsoft Remote Desktop Server and Active Directory.
- Foster positive communications within the organization, the department, and work teams from a technology standpoint.
- Participate in infrastructure projects (systems and networks).
- Identify and communicate ideas for improving software processes.
- Assist in other duties involving computer and network setup and operations.
- Primarily provide remote support, but also provide on-site support as required.
You will need to be a team player, with excellent communications skills and the ability to coordinate and interact with multiple people and projects. In addition, you must be able to work with complex distributed systems and technologies and related infrastructure components with a limited degree of supervision. Previous experience in a marine and/or emergency response environment is considered a strong asset.
